On August 8th I posted a blog called “Others”. It opened with “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (PROV 11:25 NIV) Today I want to show you a picture of generosity. His name is Piotr Malachowski. He won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics for discus. After his win Piotr tried to give it away to help a little boy who desperately needed help. The Poland native decided to auction off his medal to raise funds to for a 3-year-old boy, Olek Szymanski, who is battling eye cancer. Here is the post from his Facebook page, “There is no chance of saving Olek’s eyes in Poland. The only chance is therapy in New York.” He made it clear that he would use the entire sum raised from selling his silver medal to pay for the treatment.
